ROM, SPACEKNIGHT
At the end of the ROM comic book series, the shining cyborg armor is laid to rest, and his human form walks into the sunset with his beloved. The End.
But this is comics. When a popular character meets his “End” it usually just signals a new beginning, right? They’ll appear again in a few months. Maybe in a flashy new costume with cool new powers. Right?
Sadly, Marvel had licensed the rights to feature ROM from Parker Brothers, who were trying to sell a ROM toy. The toy failed, the license lapsed, the series was brought to a close, and to this day, poor ROM, the noble Spaceknight is left gathering dust. -

This is the saddest thing ever. ROM was always one of my favorite characters, too.
